Key Win For Keighley

It was a cracking Saturday for Keighley after five players picked up £30,000 each thanks to their postcode. That's a total of £150,000 landing in one postcode in one day!

The Moss Carr Road residents, who play with postcode BD21 4SB, scooped the fantastic amount in April's first Saturday Street Prize.

One of the winners, Michael, couldn't believe his luck when he discovered how much he had won. He said, "I'm in shock - this just doesn't seem real. I signed up to play after seeing an advert on television and thought I'd give it a go but I never thought that I would win this amount!"

Michael and his wife, Jacqueline, already have a few ideas on how they plan to spend the windfall. He said, "Our daughter has moved over to Australia, so this means that my wife will be able to go and visit her. I'm going to treat myself to a Citroen Berlingo people carrier and I'll also be spoiling my son and the grandkids too!"

Sara, who was joined by her partner Colin, was stunned when she was presented with her cheque, "This feels like I'm in a dream – I have to keep looking at my cheque to remind myself that this has really happened! I was made redundant very suddenly last July so this has definitely come at a good time.

"I like playing People's Postcode Lottery because it's so simple – once you've joined the money comes out your bank account and you don’t need to do anything else. All my friends are signing up now they've seen I've won."

Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson, who handed the winners their cheques, said, "Congratulations Keighley! I've had a brilliant time meeting our winners and presenting them with their cheques. Make sure you're signed up to play because it could be your door I’m knocking on next!"

Players aren't the only ones who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery. To date, players have raised over £291 Million for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

Players have supported the nearby charity SELFA. The charity was awarded £4,000 last year to run local workshops during the summer holidays for disadvantaged children.
