Driving's A Dream In Croxley Green

Two neighbours in Croxley Green have won big, collecting cheques for £25,000 each. 

The Windmill Drive residents scooped the prize when their postcode, WD3 3FE, was drawn as a winner with People's Postcode Lottery.

Pamela was completely overwhelmed when she pulled her cheque out of the golden envelope. She said, "My legs have turned to jelly! I've never won anything like this before so it's an amazing surprise. I've got three kids and eight grandkids so I'll be sharing the win with them, as well as my husband Alan. Everyone can treat themselves to something they'd like and that way we'll all have something to remember it by!"

Just when Pamela thought things couldn't get any better, she also picked up the keys for a brand new BMW. She said, "I thought I was going to faint when I saw the second cheque with the car. I've just celebrated my 74th birthday so this has made it extra special - it's truly been an unforgettable week."

Second winner John was overjoyed with his prize. He said, "This is just amazing! It's so lovely that I've won alongside my next door neighbour Pamela, who I've known for 30 years. We've even been out dancing in the street together in the pouring rain celebrating!"

People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Danyl Johnson congratulated them both and said, "I'm over the moon for Pamela and John – neighbours who are also friends winning together, what's not to love? Make sure you're playing with your postcode and I could be knocking on your door next." 

It's not just players who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery, 32% of the ticket price goes to charity. Players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised £301 Million for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally. This prize was promoted by charity Plan International UK.

Watford & District Mencap is just one good cause local to the winners that has received funding from players. The group was awarded £8,820 last year to support adults with learning disabilities into voluntary work and paid employment.
