Rotherham Rejoices

CHRISTMAS has come early for hundreds of people in Rotherham after they won a share of our biggest-ever single People's Postcode Lottery prize.

A total of 561 players have pocketed a slice of the historic £17.5 million Postcode Lottery pot.

And the biggest winner, who has two tickets, won £836,114 after we revealed S65 3QP as the full winning postcode in December's Postcode Millions draw.

Three of their neighbours each took home a whopping £418,057.

A further 557 players in S65 3 also landed bumper windfalls ranging from £24,266 to £97,064, depending on the number of tickets they play with.

Ambassadors Matt Johnson, Danyl Johnson and Judie McCourt were on hand to reveal the good news at a special event at the town's Magna Science Adventure Centre.

Matt said: "What an incredible, memorable day! It was such a pleasure to celebrate the biggest-ever Postcode Lottery prize with the Rotherham winners. I hope they all treat themselves this Christmas and have fun spending their wins."

Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £1.4 billion for thousands of charities and local good causes, including organisations close to the Rotherham winners.

Headway Rotherham received £25,000 in funding this year and is based in Rawmarsh, Rotherham, close to the winners. The UK-wide charity works to improve the lives of people after brain injuries. They offer a variety of services and support, including a freephone helpline, an emergency assist, and Headway Acute Trauma Support (HATS) nurses to support families with loved ones at a critical stage of care.

Good Causes Everywhere

Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Justice Trust. Supported by our players, this trust delivers grant funding to organisations that help improve lives by delivering justice, human rights and equality. Benefitting charities include Helen Bamber Foundation, Women for Women International and Amnesty International UK.

With 33% of the ticket price going to deserving projects, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised more than £1.4 billion for thousands of charities and good causes across Great Britain, as well as internationally.
