Triumph For Burton-on-Trent

Nine lucky players from Burton-on-Trent have struck it rich, all thanks to their postcode. Each of our winners netted a £30,000 prize after their postcode, DE15 0PD, was drawn in today's Street Prize.

These prizes are part of our special #30KADAY campaign in which one postcode is revealed as a winner every day in April's draws, and every ticket in that postcode scoops an amazing £30,000 cheque.

Speechless

Two of our winners were married couple Ron and Lorraine who learned of their windfall during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson.

As a cheque with £30,000 on it was revealed, gardening enthusiast Lorraine exclaimed, "Oh my God! I'll get a good polytunnel with that!" The couple were then left stunned when a second £30,000 cheque was revealed, as each of them were playing with a ticket, leading them both to hug and start laughing.

As the surprise started to sink in, maintenance worker Ron mentioned the couple had been thinking about the lottery recently. He said, "We were saying about it only last week, we wish the lottery would knock on our door. It's a coincidence, isn't it?" Lorraine, who works locally as a cleaner, was lost for words for a few moments, and Ron joked, "It's the first time she's speechless!"

Keen motorcyclist Ron suggested he might buy a new motorbike with his winnings. Lorraine added, "We've already got one, but he just wants another one to play on, you never grow up!" She has a couple of plans for her own hobby, too. She said, "Something for my allotment. A new pair of wellies! Most women like diamonds, I like anything for the garden!"

The pair were also thinking about upcoming holidays. Lorraine said, "We've got a little trip to Scarborough arranged and we've got friends in York. We love Northumberland so I think it's going to go towards a glamping holiday in Northumberland."

Danyl Johnson congratulated all the lucky neighbours. He said, "I am so pleased for Ron, Lorraine and all of our other winners in Burton-on-Trent today. It was lovely to bring them this surprise and I hope they all enjoy spending their winnings. I'm sure they'll be getting themselves a well-deserved treat soon!"
