Nice Win For Nercwys
A player of People's Postcode Lottery from Nercwys has woken up £50,000 richer after CH7 4EA was drawn as the winner of one of the Saturday Street Prizes today.
Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson made his way to Flintshire to surprise lucky Mark Gray who plays with two tickets – doubling his prize to a whopping £50,000.
Mark said, "I'm still a bit shocked to be honest. It's a unbelievable really – you don't expect to win this sort of money. I've been saving up for a deposit and this will go right to it.
"When Matt pulled out my cheque and I saw that I'd won £50,000, I just went numb – it means so much to me and my family.
"You want to be mortgage-free before you retire and we'll be able to do that now – stretch our money a bit better and have a few nice holidays in between.
"I started playing People's Postcode Lottery because I've always been charitable, I give to a few charities already and I wanted to find another way. The fact 30% of every ticket goes to great charities around Great Britain and globally is just fantastic. As an individual, it is a small amount but you can make so much more impact as a group of players.
"Yes, winning is great but the most important part is that charities get so much support from players of People's Postcode Lottery."
Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson said, "It was fantastic to be back in Wales – and what an occasion to mark my first cheque delivery to a winner in my neck of the woods. Mark was lovely and I hope that £50,000 will help him buy a lovely house for his family. With a bit of luck, I'll be back in Wales soon enough – knocking on another door with some great news."
As a charity lottery, so far players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised an amazing £129 Million for charities across Great Britain and internationally.
Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Trust received £8,571 from players of People's Postcode Lottery this year to deliver their Dragonscapes project in Flintshire. This project aims to re-engage the people of North East Wales with their natural environment and provide opportunities to make a positive difference to the declining wildlife on their doorstep.
Also this weekend, we had the Postcode Millions land in Mansfield, another £25,000 Street Prize scooped in Whitstable, the Dream Holidays were won in Barnet and Meltham got lucky with £5,000 and BMW prizes.
