Winners Galore In Audenshaw

An incredible 824 Audenshaw residents are a little - or a lot - richer, as the postcode sector M34 5 has shared April's £3 Million Postcode Millions prize. Presenters Judie McCourt and Danyl Johnson were among the team knocking on doors to surprise winners with their cheques.

The full winning postcode, M34 5LY, landed four lucky players the biggest prizes of the day - £294,334 each.

Jean, was joined by her daughter Debbie and granddaughter Alex who were just as shocked as her when the huge amount was revealed. Jean said, "It feels like a dream! It just means so much to me that I'll be able to help out my children and my grandchildren. I have arthritis and the stairs are getting quite difficult for me so this means I'll be able to move into a bungalow. I'd love to take a nice holiday with my family too."

Jean's neighbour Raymond also won the £294,334 prize. He said, "It's marvellous! I can't believe it. My wife Julie and I have always wanted to go to Australia so we'll definitely do that, and we've got some home improvements we've been wanting to do. It’s wonderful to be able to help out our family too.

"I signed up initially as a way to help charities, and it's great that it's helping them so much as well as helping us."

John landed the prize while away on holiday in Benidorm, so his wife Tina and daughter Leanne received the cheque on his behalf and already have some ideas of how to help him spend it. Leanne exclaimed, "We're going shopping!"

The fourth winner in the full postcode wasn't available to receive their cheque, but their winnings will be paid directly into their bank account.

The remaining 820 winners scooped between £1,989 and £7,956.

People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Danyl Johnson said, "What a fantastic day in Audenshaw! I've had a brilliant time handing out cheques all over the place and it's brilliant to see the community celebrating together – it's what People's Postcode Lottery is all about. Congratulations everyone!"

32% of the ticket price goes to charity and so far, People's Postcode Lottery's players have raised an incredible £291 Million for over 4,000 good causes in Great Britain and internationally.

A number of local projects have received support from players of People's Postcode Lottery, including Highway Hope, which received £15,000 last year for a project to empower disadvantaged families to make the transition from food bank dependency to independence.
