Streets Ahead In Sheffield
Two Sheffield players have just scooped big prizes with People's Postcode Lottery. Their postcode, S2 1HB, was picked as our Sunday Street Prize winner this week.
Brian Booth and Martin Thomas from Windy House Lane were lucky winners, collecting whopping £30,000 cheques.
Brian said, "My friends made fun of me when I first signed up because they thought I wouldn't win anything – they'll all be joining now! I've actually just sold my caravan but I’ll be able to buy myself a new one now. It's been a very nice surprise!"
Martin, a local bus driver, said, "It's a dream come true to have Judie arrive at my door with a big cheque! I can't believe it. My girlfriend Jackie and I are redecorating our house at the moment, so I think she will have some big ideas on what we can do now that we've got this extra cash."
People's Postcode Lottery's Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt said, "I've had a fantastic time here in Sheffield meeting our lucky winners Brian and Martin. I think they were both quite shocked – I hope they enjoy spending it once it's sunk in!"
A minimum of 31% of the ticket price goes to charities. Players of People's Postcode Lottery have, to date, raised over £221 Million for more than 3,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
One local cause which has received support from players is Heeley City Farm, which was awarded £19,900 to run an activity-based project for people with dementia.
There were also some smiling faces in Leamington Spa, as three lucky players in CV31 3LX scooped £30,000 cheques.
