Street Prize
Ipswich Gets Rich
One Ipswich resident is celebrating this weekend after a whopping windfall with People's Postcode Lottery's Sunday Street Prize. Postcode IP4 2LH was drawn as one of our two Street Prize winners this weekend, landing Margaret Proctor a wonderful £30,000.
Margaret was joined by her two sisters, Frances and Theresa, to pick up her cheque. Margaret said, "I don't know what to say, just thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm not quite sure what I'm going to spend my winnings on yet; some of it will get spent, some of it will get saved and some of it will be given away. I started doing People's Postcode Lottery because I thought it seemed like a good idea and it's turned out to be a very good idea!"
People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "It was fantastic to meet Margaret today and to surprise her with her cheque. I hope she enjoys spending her winnings and treats herself to something special."
A minimum of 31% of the ticket price goes to charity. To date, People's Postcode Lottery players have raised more than £229 Million for more than 3,000 good causes.
One local cause which has received support from players is ActivLives. An award of £19,990 was given last year to support an environmental conservation project for people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The funding will help them develop community gardens and the wider local area.
We also had a big win in Bristol on Saturday. Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson delivered a fantastic £30,000 cheque to lucky player Desiree.
