Street Prize
Christmas Gift For Aylmerton
A dog trainer from Aylmerton has scooped £25,000 this Christmas Eve, thanks to her lucky postcode. Katherine Well's postcode, NR11 8PX, was drawn in one of our two Saturday Street Prizes today.
The self-employed canine behaviourist described her People's Postcode Lottery win as 'absolutely thrilling'. Katherine said, "I can't explain how happy it's made me feel to win £25,000. It's like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
"Dogs are my life and my dream is to one day have a little place with a big field to work with the dogs, so this will help me work towards that. My husband would also like a new car and my son and daughter will get something nice."
Rodney Taylor, one of Katherine's neighbours, also received £25,000 and kissed the cheque when he realised how much he'd won.
Rodney said, "What a marvellous prize! As soon as I saw the advert for People's Postcode Lottery, I knew it was the competition for me. You just have to have faith in your own postcode."
Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "What an amazing prize to receive on Christmas Eve, and it was my pleasure to hand out the cheques to our winners in Aylmerton. 2017 could be your lucky year, so if you're not already playing People's Postcode Lottery, what are you waiting for?"
Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £161 Million to date for charities across Great Britain and internationally.
A project near Aylmerton which has received support from players is Claxton Parish Pit Charity. The organisation was awarded £9,600 this year to enhance Ducan's Marsh, an area of grassland in East Norfolk which is a site of special scientific interest.
Also this weekend, we have a lucky £25,000 winner in Bristol in our second Saturday Street Prize.
