Street Prize
High Spirits In Ewloe
Three neighbours in Ewloe are celebrating this week after Saturday's Street Prize landed in their postcode.
Two of the Mold Road residents, who play with the postcode CH5 3BG, scooped £30,000 each. The third winner, who plays with two tickets, doubled their prize to an amazing £60,000.
Dianne was the lucky £60,000 winner. She said, "I couldn't believe it when I pulled the big £30,000 cheque out of the envelope – and then when Judie handed me another I was blown away! I think the first thing I'll do is book a holiday somewhere warm and sunny with my husband for my birthday in April."
Lorry driver Michael was also delighted with the win. He said, "My head's going six million to the dozen trying to figure out what to do with it. I might go mad and buy another guitar to add to my collection – that's my thing!
"I originally signed up because of all the money that goes to charity, I love reading the list of all of the causes that are supported."
The third winner wasn't available to receive their cheque in person, but their winnings will be transferred directly into their bank account.
Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt congratulated the lucky players. She said, "It's fantastic that winners on this one street in Ewloe have shared an incredible £120,000. I hope they enjoy spending it!"
To date, more than £272 Million has been raised by players of People's Postcode Lottery for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A local project that has received support from players is Community Nature Hub. The group was awarded £17,300 last year to educate and enable the community to access and record nature in Cheshire's wild spaces.
Another postcode was drawn as the winner of Sunday's £30,000 Street Prize.
