Cash Bonus For Bilston
A lucky Bilston resident had a very exciting visit this weekend when their postcode, WV14 9SZ, was drawn in Saturday's Street Prize.
Susan Bates, who works as a foster carer, is planning to use the money for a house extension, as she has three boys and three girls who are all hoping for their own bedrooms.
Susan was joined by her husband Mark when she was presented with her whopping £30,000 cheque. She said, "We're still celebrating - as it's not every day you win £30,000! We're going to Tenerife for Christmas as we usually do, but this one will be extra special; the kids are already making their Christmas lists.
"We're also looking at a holiday in Florida in the New Year, as well as paying for an extension to the house."
Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "It was fantastic to meet Susan today, and to surprise her with her cheque. It sounds like she has some very exciting plans for spending her winnings."
A minimum of 31% of the ticket price goes to charities. To date, players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £237 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A local cause that has received support from players is the Central Youth Theatre. The group was awarded £17,350 last year to deliver a 12 month programme of artistic community activity.
There were also celebrations in Patchway, as neighbours in BS34 5EN scooped Sunday's Street Prize.
