Street Prize
Hooray For Harston!
A school cook is one of two players from Harston who scooped an amazing £30,000 in Saturday's Street Prize.
Lucky Button End resident Belinda had her postcode, CB22 7NX, drawn as a winner.
She said, "This was a total surprise! I broke the news to my three children by sending them a photo of me holding the winning cheque with the message, 'look what mum's won!'
"I'm going to go on holiday to Cuba. I went five years ago and I loved it so much that I'm going back.
"My garden is a mud patch at the moment and I'd like to get it landscaped so that I can spend more time in it during the school holidays."
Another lucky winner was unavailable to receive their cheque from Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier. Their prize will be paid directly into their bank account.
Congratulating the Harston winners, Jeff said, "It's great when people on the same street win together. Don't be the neighbour that didn't win. If you want to be in with a chance of scooping an amazing prize, you know what to do. Sign up to play with your postcode now."
£263 Million has been raised to date by players of People's Postcode Lottery for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A local group that has received support from players is Spinning Wheel Theatre, which was awarded £4,750 last year to help run education and engagement projects with young people and community groups.
Seven neighbours picked up £30,000 cheques elsewhere after their postcode was drawn as Sunday's Street Prize winner.
