Lucky Luton Scoops Street Prize
Two lucky players from Luton are celebrating after winning Saturday's Street Prize.
Their postcode, LU1 1ST, has scooped one of the neighbours a thrilling £30,000. Our other winner, who plays with two tickets, has doubled their prize to a whopping £60,000!
Richard, an army veteran, was the lucky £60,000 winner. He said, "It still hasn't sunk in yet. I haven’t got a clue what I'm going to do with my winnings – I've never seen a cheque for this much money in my life!
"My girlfriend Ellen will definitely have a say in spending it! I’m sure we'll treat ourselves to a nice holiday somewhere exotic."
People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Jeff Brazier handed the cheque to Richard. Jeff said, "It was a great day in Luton meeting Richard and presenting him with such a big cheque. Once he’s gotten over the shock I’m sure he’ll enjoy treating himself and Ellen to something nice!"
With People's Postcode Lottery, 32% of the ticket price goes to charities. To date, our players have raised more than £361 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. This Street prize was part of a draw promoted by Postcode Care Trust.
One good cause close to our winners is Level Trust. The group was awarded £18,878 to provide gift cards to children living in poverty so they can purchase school uniforms and coats.
