Street Prize
Big Win For Littlehampton
Three Littlehampton neighbours have won big thanks to their lucky postcode.
The players have scooped £30,000 cheques after their postcode, BN17 6JJ, was drawn as the winner of Saturday's Street Prize.
Two of the winners from North Street were available to receive their cheques from Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson.
Julie, who works part time in Tesco while she trains as an accountant, was in tears when she unveiled her cheque. She said, "I can't believe it. We get married in six months and this is perfect. I wanted to have a bouncy castle at the wedding but couldn't afford it and now we can."
Julie's partner Martin will be turning 50 in May and the family are now planning a holiday to celebrate with their two children. Julie added, "We wanted a holiday but couldn't afford it. We'll be going away now."
A couple of doors away lives Rachael. She was thrilled to learn what she had won saying, "It hasn't sunk in. This is a big amount of money for me. I've won quite a few small prizes before, but this is amazing."
Rachael already has plans for her winnings, "I always wanted to go to Australia to visit family. Now I can take my mum."
Danyl Johnson said, "I love it when I surprise our players at their doors and reveal what they have won, it really is the best job in the world. Sign up with your postcode now if you want to be in with a chance of getting one of these amazing cheques from me!"
It's not just players who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery, a minimum of 32% of the ticket price goes to charities.
To date, players have raised over £272 Million for more than 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
Littlehampton Croquet Club, which provides activities for all ages in the community, received £2,000 last year from players of People's Postcode Lottery to upgrade their clubhouse.
There were also celebrations elsewhere this weekend, as three players won Sunday's Street Prize.
