Big Win Rocks Blackpool

It's a wonderful Saturday for three players in Blackpool as they've scooped an amazing £30,000 each. The neighbours' lucky postcode, FY1 5FJ, was drawn to win this weekend's Saturday Street Prize.

Winner Ionescu, who builds horse boxes for a living, was completely flabbergasted to discover how much he had won. He said, "I can't believe this - I never expected to win this kind of money in a million years. This is really going to change my life and I feel like my future is secured now. I'll definitely be celebrating this weekend with a massive barbeque with lots of my friends and lots of beer!"

Once he has finished celebrating, Ionescu plans to sit down with wife Mailina and chat about how they will spend their windfall.

Also ecstatic at the win was Terence, who was with wife Nicola when the People's Postcode Lottery team knocked on his door to present him with the prize. Both were taken aback when they saw the winning amount and plan to use the cash to renovate their garden.

The third winner wasn't available to collect their cheque, but their winnings will be paid directly into their bank account.

Offering his congratulations, Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson said, "The only thing that can top a visit to the seaside is one where I also get to hand out massive cheques to our lovely winners! Well done to everyone picking up a prize today in Blackpool. Make sure you're playing and I could be knocking on your door with a big golden envelope."

It's not only players who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery. 32% of the ticket price goes to charities. To date, more than £320 Million has been raised for over 4,000 good causes, across Great Britain and internationally. This Street Prize was part of a draw promoted by charity PDSA.

A charity close to our winners that players have helped to support is Blackpool Carers Centre. Last year, the group received £19,761 in funding to deliver training and individual support to carers experiencing financial hardship to help improve their money-management skills.
