Winnings For Walton

A lucky postcode in Walton has earned five People's Postcode Lottery players a whopping £30,000 each.

The Woodfield Park residents, who play with postcode WF2 6PL, were drawn as winners in Sunday's Street Prize.

The lucky neighbours were unavailable to receive their cheques in person, but their winnings will be paid directly into their bank accounts.

Congratulating the winners, Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt said, "Well done Walton! There's nothing better than neighbours winning together. With £130 Million in prizes to be won this year, sign up now and we could be knocking on your door soon!"

£263 Million has been raised to date by players of People's Postcode Lottery, for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.

A local cause that has received support from players is Groundwork Wakefield, which was awarded £13,769 last year to develop an outdoor educational facility focusing on the environment and wildlife.

The Walton winners weren't the only ones celebrating. Two players also scooped £30,000 in Saturday's Street Prize and 333 winners shared £3 Million in January's Postcode Millions prize.
