Everything's coming up roses in Romiley as two residents have landed stunning £30,000 prizes, thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery!

The Hill Top winners collected life-changing cheques when their postcode, SK6 4AY, got lucky in our Sunday Street Prize.

Local mechanic Christopher and his wife Linda were surprised to find People's Postcode Lottery Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt on their doorstep with a shiny golden envelope. Christopher said, "I'm absolutely delighted – I've got a bottle of champagne in the fridge so we'll definitely be celebrating with that! Linda was unfortunately made redundant at Christmas so the timing couldn't be better."

Christopher plans to put the windfall towards home improvements. He said, "I'll be able to get the bathroom done up now, which is just fantastic. Linda is celebrating her birthday next week too so I'm sure she'll be dropping hints for gifts soon! I'm sure a few more people will be signing up to play after seeing what I've won today."

Our second winner Maria was in utter disbelief when she was presented with her amazing prize. She said, "Oh my god - I can't believe this - it's so exciting! I'm going on holiday soon, so it means I can just enjoy myself without having to worry about money. It's really going to make a massive difference and will make life a lot easier. Winning with my neighbour is great too. It means we can share in the fun and excitement together!"

Judie McCourt couldn't be more pleased for our lucky winners. Judie said, "Well done to Christopher and Maria – I hope they both enjoy treating themselves with their windfall. Make sure you're playing and it could be you I'm coming to surprise!" 

With 32% from every ticket going to charity, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised more than £301 Million for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally. This Sunday's Street Prize was promoted by charity Plan International UK.

Charnwood Trust is one charity close to our winners which players have helped support. The group were awarded £19,000 last year to transform land into sensory outdoor play areas for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
