Street Prize
Life Is Good In South Norwood
A South Norwood postcode, SE25 6XJ, is this week's Sunday Street Prize winner, landing one resident a whopping £30,000.
Andrea, the lucky winner, was surprised by Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt with the fantastic £30,000 cheque.
Andrea, who works as a telecoms project manager, said, "This is very surreal - I can't believe this is happening to me! I'm completely flabbergasted because I had no idea what to expect inside the golden envelope so it's a really lovely surprise.
"This has come at such a good time because I haven't had a car since November. Now I'll be able to afford one and put down a deposit on a house too!"
Andrea also plans to spend the windfall on a pair of party shoes, "My daughter, Leanne, got engaged recently and is having her engagement party in April. I'm definitely going to take Judie's advice and treat myself to a nice new pair of dancing shoes!"
Offering her congratulations Judie said, "I've had such a great time meeting Andrea today and presenting her with her prize - I'm sure she'll have a fabulous time spending it! Sign up today with your postcode and I could be knocking on your door soon!"
With 32% of the ticket price going to charity, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised £282 Million for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
Carers Lewisham is one of the nearby charities that players have helped to support. The group was awarded £6,065 last year to create a therapeutic garden space for carers and volunteers to enjoy.
