Street Prize
Golden Envelopes For Gillingham
It's a super Sunday for five winners in Gillingham after their postcode, ME7 1TB, got lucky in today's Street Prize. Four neighbours netted cheques for £30,000, while a fifth, who played with two tickets, doubled their prize money to £60,000.
Kitchen Appliance Queen
When People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Danyl Johnson revealed down-to-earth Justine's £30,000 cheque she exclaimed, "Lovely! Thank you very, very much."
Upon being asked what she'd like to spend her winnings on, Justine said, "I want a posh new kettle. A nice Dualit one to match my toaster."
She excitedly joked, "You should have seen me when I got my toaster!"
Other than the new kitchen appliance for herself, Justine wants to treat her family with her win. She said, "My daughter got engaged this summer.
"Part of that will be a little nest egg for her when her and her fiancé set up home."
Justine's been living in Leet Close for 27 years and said it's a lovely community, with all the neighbours getting along well.
An Early Christmas
Fellow winning neighbour Tracey proved harder to get hold of and our People's Postcode Lottery team couldn't get in touch before their visit.
When Tracey saw our team filming in her street, she became curious. She said, "I came out to be nosy."
Knowing she played herself, she thought, "Why are they not knocking on my door?"
When she saw the Postcode Lottery team also had a cheque for her, she said, "That's life-changing for me."
Tracey is now looking forward to a very special family Christmas, but she does have a personal treat in mind. She said, "I'd love to go up in a helicopter. I want a helicopter ride."
For The Enjoyment
Also winning was retiree Charles, who's been playing our lottery for many years and likes taking part with the knowledge that players help to support thousands of good causes. He said, "I've just enjoyed doing it. You've got to help people out because otherwise, what are you here for?"
Not from the area originally, Charles moved to Gillingham after meeting his future wife there. Of his win, he said, "It means I can help some of the family out."
People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Danyl Johnson said, "It was a fantastic day surprising the winners with our £30,000 Street Prize.
"I hope they all get the chance to celebrate together with a street party!"
He added, "Seeing neighbours celebrating together is brilliant and they know they're also supporting good causes locally, throughout Great Britain and internationally. When players sign up, charities win too."
Good Causes Everywhere
Today's prize is part of a draw promoted on behalf of Postcode Innovation Trust (opens in a new tab). Supported by our players, this trust provides grant funding to organisations who wish to deliver innovative, impactful and engaging projects across Britain.
With 33% of the ticket price going to charities and good causes, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised more than £1.1 Billion for thousands of projects and groups across the world.
Fantastic Prizes are announced every single day! It couldn't be easier to sign up - it only takes two minutes, and it might be the best decision you ever make. If you're not sure how to play, you can learn more about us in our How It Works guide.
