Street Prize
Congratulations Caldicot
It's a fantastic day for five neighbours in Caldicot as they've each scooped a fabulous £30,000 each! The windfall arrived after their postcode, NP26 4QE, was announced as the winner of today's #30KADAY Street Prize.
Every day throughout our August draws we'll announce one postcode as a £30,000 Street Prize winner. Each player in that lucky postcode will win £30,000 for every ticket they hold.
Ultra-Marathon Plans
An overjoyed Tanya clapped and whooped after Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt revealed her prize during a video call. She exclaimed, "Yeah! Thank you - woohoo! That's amazing, it's just great, it's just like wow!"
Mum-of-three Tanya plans to spend some of the money on running, a hobby that she took up 15 years ago, and next year plans to enter her first ultra-marathon. She said, "My husband and I are doing Race to the Stones, a 100K (62.1 mile) race next July. So, we're doing it with a couple of friends, and it'll go towards the entry fee as well.
"It's over the weekend and it's about 31 miles a day."
Tanya, who works for a local portacabin company, admitted that all the equipment and clothing needed for the event was costly and that her winnings would go a long way. She said, "We've bought new walking boots, hydration vests, waterproof jackets, so we're getting all the gear together slowly. So, £30,000 will definitely help.
"I always buy like last season's trainers so I said I might splash out on a nice pair of trainers."
She has been waiting a while for a family holiday and had a few destinations in mind. She said, "We've been trying to go to Cyprus for the last two years, but it has been cancelled twice, so I'd love to go to either Cyprus, Portugal or Turkey and get a bit of sun."
Treats for her husband and an essential winter purchase for the house are also on the cards. She laughed and said, "My husband has his eye on a Porsche Boxster but don't tell anyone - only an old model, but he'll probably want to treat himself to something - maybe some new trainers, too. I'm desperate for a new boiler, I think it'll go a long way."
After the video call, Judie McCourt said, "I was so pleased to bring this incredible surprise to Tanya today, I couldn't be happier for her. I hope she can use the winnings to go on holiday, buy a new boiler and pay for trainers for that incredible ultra-marathon!
"Congratulations to all five of our winners in Caldicot, I'm sure they'll all be celebrating today and into the weekend."
