£1 Million Prize

North Hykeham Millionaire Street

23 November 2024 - LN6 9PH - North Hykeham - £1 Million
Today's Millionaire Street prizes have landed in North Hykeham!

AN AMAZED young man will move out of his mum's house and travel the world after landing a share of £1 million.

Joshua Logsdail is set to buy his first home and car and embark on a worldwide adventure after winning a cheque for £100,000.

He has his mum to thank for putting him up at the winning postcode - and she didn't even know he played.

DOSH JOSH: Josh said the world had opened up for him

The transport worker, of North Hykeham, Lincolnshire, said: "I'm over the moon and back again. It opens up the whole world. I'm over-the-world happy!

"I told my sister that I'd got a call saying I'd won, but I didn't tell my mum. She'll be gobsmacked when I tell her how much."

Josh is one of nine neighbours celebrating windfalls after LN6 9PH bagged our weekly Millionaire Street prize today.

Every ticket was worth £100,000, but one winner doubled their prize to £200,000 as they played with two tickets.

Earlier in the week, Josh received a call from our team telling him he'd won and that a camera crew would be visiting his street - but after getting caught in traffic, he thought he'd missed out.

Josh, who works part-time with Mark's Transport Group - helping transport children to school - said: "I was working this morning, and I got stuck in traffic because of the snow, and I thought the lottery had already left my street.

"I heard a knock at the door, and then I saw lots of red coats outside, and I was like, 'Oh my God! It's real, it's just like the advert.'"

He added: "It's still not sunk in yet. A hundred grand is mad, and to have it at 29 - it's changed my life."

HOUSE ABOUT THAT: Josh is flying the nest onto the property ladder

Josh, who lives with his mum on Claudius Road, is now planning on purchasing his own place. He's keen to follow in the footsteps of his two older sisters, who have both moved out of the family home in recent years.

He said: "A house is a big thing, and I didn't even think about it until I saw the amount.

"I'd like to buy around here - my job is in Lincoln, and the pub's down the road. I'm happy here."

Josh may have initially kept the good news from his mum, but he was quick to add that he'll spoil her and the rest of his family.

He said: "Looking after my mum is the most important thing. I'm a family guy and family are always most important to me.

"For Christmas, I have a budget for each person, but I might spend a bit more now."

Josh says he's already begun browsing the web for a country-hopping adventure in 2025.

He said: "I've got six weeks off for half-term and I might travel for all of it. I've already got a 14-day cruise to Portugal booked with my dad. He booked it, but I'll pay for it all now.

"Who knows where I'll go after that."

Josh signed up for our £12-a-month subscription on a whim after a conversation with a work colleague.

He said: "The bus driver I work with told me to sign up and I thought, 'Why not?' It's not a lot, it's cheaper than a round of drinks, and it's paid off big time."

UNBELIEVABLE: Presenter Danyl Johnson surprised Josh

Josh, who will now invest in driving lessons and his first car, said: "I've already looked at a Skoda Fabia, but it can't be too fast as I need something practical for my nieces and nephews."

The Leeds United fan has also added an Elland Road season ticket to his spending list as well as a day-out in Leeds' hospitality section.

Across the road, Stuart Wilde was stunned to tears after receiving his £100,000 cheque.

Stuart, who works as a photographer and lecturer at the University of Lincoln, said: "I'm not an easily shocked man but I'm in total disbelief.

"I never dreamt that I'd be stood in my garden with a £100,000 cheque. It doesn't happen to people like me."

TOTALLY WILDE: Snapper Stuart was also a winner

The delighted dad-of-two is now planning on renting out a big house in the British countryside over the festive period.

He said: "I can hopefully take all the family away somewhere over Christmas and the New Year including my father-in-law who isn't very well at the minute.

"It's financial security for me and my family, and also we'll be able to do something nice for the whole family, which is incredible."

HEAD IN THE CLOUDS: Soaring Stuart feels even taller after £100k lift

At 6'8", Stuart is one of the tallest ever Postcode Lottery winners. He said he felt even higher moments after his prize was revealed.

He said: "I feel like I'm in some geostationary orbit looking down on myself. It's an out-of-body experience."

Stuart couldn't wait to share the news with his wife, Claire Wilde, who was working at a local school when Danyl and the rest of our team surprised him at their home.

He said: "I would tell her to sit down for the news, but she's so clumsy she'd probably fall off her chair anyway.

"It's an amazing thing that has happened in a really tough year, especially for Claire, so there's a little bit of light in this year now."

The couple recently celebrated their third wedding anniversary and share four children and a granddaughter.

Stuart said: "They all won't believe me, there will be screaming and cheering, I'm sure."

He laughed and added: "They'll probably say that's their inheritance gone up because we've got a running joke that every time I buy them something, I'll say, 'That's coming off your inheritance.'"

And Stuart will even allow his four-year-old granddaughter to pick her dream holiday.

He said: "We'll take her away next summer, whether it's Disneyland or anywhere - she can choose."

Stuart was also delighted to hear that lots of people on the street had also won big.

He said: "It's amazing to win with so many neighbours. They'll all probably say the same thing: that you never believe it's going to happen."

Joker Stuart added: "There'll be a row of Lamborghinis parked up outside soon."

Another £100k winner was Ian Ogden, who plans on spending most of the cash on lavish holidays.

The dad-of-three laughed hysterically when he saw his cheque and said: "I've never won anything in my life like this, nothing, I can't believe it. I'm so excited.

"I can't take the smile off my face; I don't think it'll come off for a week, a month, a year."

Ian, a self-employed plumbing and heating engineer, said: "I want to take all my family away on a holiday somewhere really special, so they all remember it."

Ian and his wife, Sarah Ogden, have three daughters and two grandsons.

Ian added: "I think they'll want to go to Florida... I think they've all spent it for me already."

JUMPING FOR JOY: Ian said he couldn't stop smiling after his mega win

Ian added: "I'd also love to go to Australia, just me and the wife. I've been before but it's such a big country I haven't been to all of it.

"It's a life-changing experience. I'm never going to get that sort of money again in my life, so I may as well spend it."

Jason Revill also picked up a six-figure prize and says he'll finally be able to get the hot tub he's always wanted.

The dad-of-three found out how much he'd won alongside his wife Kelly, who is also celebrating her birthday this week.

Jason said: "This has just blown us away. It'll be life-changing for us.

"A hot tub for the garden is one of the things I've been saying for a while, but Kelly keeps telling me no, but I think I can stretch for one now."

FULL OF CHEER: Buzzing couple Kelly and Jason Revill

He added: "Kelly and I will also fly out to Dubai to see our best friends, who live out there, as we haven't seen them for a while."

Jason, who is an airfield maintenance contracts manager, also plans on spoiling their three daughters and grandson this Christmas.

And included on their daughters' wish list is some top designer items from brands such as Vivienne Westwood and Dolce & Gabbana.

The couple are also hunting for a set of drums for their music-mad grandson Leo.

Kelly added: "It's amazing that so many others have won and that it's not just us. It's kind of nice to celebrate with them."

The winners all joined Postcode Lottery to support local, national and international charities.

And one local organisation - ACTS Trust - has been awarded £75,000 by Postcode Community Trust.

Based in Lincoln, the charity's mission is to empower people to end poverty.

ACTS Trust runs several vital community services, including a Foodbank, Community Grocery in partnership with The Message Trust, Community Café and a Night Light Café, to name but a few.

FRUITFUL FUNDING: Staff and volunteers of Community Grocery shop cheer at £75k boost

Over the past year, ACTS Trust has provided more than 17,000 meals to people in crisis - a number that continues to rise, especially in colder months.

Simon Hawking, Chief Executive Officer at ACTS Trust, said: "The community relies on us 24/7, so it is essential we are there for people when they are most vulnerable.

"We are truly grateful for the funding we have received, and it comes at a crucial time in the year, as more and more people are impacted by the cost-of-living crisis and the demand for our services skyrocket.

"ACTS Trust also goes beyond just food aid with its Night Light Café. The service is a non-clinical, out-of-hours mental health support drop-in for people who find life difficult.

"The Night Light Café offers a supportive space for individuals 18 and older, where the 60-minute sessions can be pivotal in their recovery."

"The funding means we can continue our work across all of our services to the best of our ability, plan for the following year and be able to empower people at every step of the way," Simon added.

Other local organisations awarded funding include:

  • Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust - £75,000 A voluntary charitable organisation founded in 1948 which cares for Lincolnshire's countryside and wildlife. One of 46 similar individual Wildlife Trusts around the UK.

  • The Linkage Community Trust - Lincoln - £75,000 Commonly referred to as Linkage, this charity supports people with autism and learning disabilities. Services include quality specialist education, care and community support.

All funding was awarded by Postcode Community Trust.
