Street Prize
Congratulations Corby
It's a magnificent Sunday for seven lucky winners in Corby, all thanks to their postcode. The neighbours found out that NN18 8DW has scooped each of them an incredible £30,000 per ticket in today's Street Prize. One winner doubled their prize to £60,000 as they played with two tickets!
Their cheques were revealed during a video call by Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier.
Over The Moon
£30,000 winner Gary has lived in Corby all his life and was stunned when Jeff revealed his cheque. He exclaimed, "Wow, wow, wow! Fantastic, yeah amazing, absolutely amazing! That's a lot of money - I'm over the moon."
The dad-of-two was overjoyed with his windfall and will soon welcome his first grandchild. His daughter, Ellie, is pregnant and due in October, and he hopes to spend his winnings on his family. He said, "I can treat the wife and kids, I'll be buying the grandkid some special things before it even gets here."
He and his wife, Donna, have plenty to celebrate. Gary explained, "It's our wedding anniversary tomorrow, which is 24 years so it would be nice maybe to take the wife away, just the two of us on a romantic week or weekend away. Donna has always said she would like to go back to Rome.
"My daughter is having her reveal of what the baby is going to be. So, it'll be a double celebration this weekend in the back garden. We'll crack open a bottle of champagne and jump in the hot tub tonight."
Blimey!
Another lucky postcode winner, Sandor, plays with two tickets. He grinned in delight when Jeff revealed his first £30,000 cheque. He exclaimed, "Oh wow! That's a great amount, it's worth doing isn't it! It's always going to help as we've all been going through a hard time right now and it's the perfect time to win this kind of money, it's brilliant!" Sandor was left almost speechless when Jeff then revealed a second £30,000 cheque. He exclaimed, "Blimey, oh my god, fantastic!"
Sandor hopes to treat himself to a new kitchen and cooker with his winnings and already has his first meal planned out. He laughed and said, "The starter would be a Hungarian goulash because my parents are Hungarian, but no dessert cause I'm on a diet."
Working in the fishing-tackle industry, Sandor has a special holiday in mind with his girlfriend, Lorraine. He said, "We'll definitely be looking at a holiday to the Maldives, hopefully in November."
The ex-serviceman plans to donate some of his prize money to his regimental charity which he hopes to visit next month. He added, "I'm due to go there soon as they have a woodland and we like to help out. It's a good place to reflect."
Sandor will go out for a nice meal to celebrate with Lorraine with the restaurants nearby re-opening.
After his call, Jeff Brazier said, "I'm over the moon for our winners in Corby! A big congratulations to everyone. What a great way to end the week. I'm sure they'll enjoy spending the cash and treat themselves to something special."
