Street Prize
Brilliant Day For Brighton
Three Brighton residents won £30,000 each this weekend, after their postcode, BN1 5GB, was announced as the winner of our Sunday Street Prize.
Hannah was one of our Highbank winners.
She said, "My 11 and 14-year-old girls are having to do schoolwork from home given everything that's going on just now. They had really old laptops so I can now buy them new ones which will help a lot as they need to do three hours a day. They're excited about getting new ones which is great!"
As well as helping out her children, Hannah and her partner Sean have some exciting plans for next year.
Hannah said, "Myself and my partner got engaged at Christmas time and we've just put a deposit down for venue in March next year.
"The money will help us out with the wedding and allow us to do what we want."
"The venue is a big barn just down the road from where we live. It's a while away yet so I'm hoping it still goes ahead!"
When asked why she started playing People's Postcode Lottery, Hannah added, "Mainly because someone I used to work with won 10 grand! It's realising that it's something you can actually win. I thought I'd have a bit of that too!"
It's Just Brilliant
Lynn was another player who scooped a superb £30,000.
She said, "It's just brilliant! I was ill last year so it's a good boost.
"I've got two children and six grandchildren, so I will help them all out. One of them is an ice hockey player and it costs a fortune with him going up and down the country to play, as we don't have an ice rink in Brighton. The equipment isn't cheap either!
"It really helps all of us. It's nice to put a smile on the kids' faces."
Lynn also plans to take a trip abroad after her upcoming holiday was cancelled.
"I'll use the money to go on holiday when I can. I was due to go to Spain next week but understandably it was cancelled. It was my first holiday in six years too! We can book a new one down the line now though which I can look forward to."
Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson said, "I'm over the moon for our Brighton winners and I'm sure they'll enjoy their prize money. Unfortunately, I was unable to visit them in person, but I'm sending you all a big congratulations!"
