Four Cardiff residents have scooped a share of a massive £120,000 cash prize this weekend, thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery. Each of the Caegwyn Road players won a £30,000 cheque after CF14 1TB was announced as a winner of today's Street Prize.

Justine, who works in HR, was thrilled when she received a knock on her door from our team. She said, "I'm still in complete and utter shock! I've been playing for more than ten years but didn't expect to win £30,000! I started playing because I already supported a lot of local charities but wanted a way to cover a lot of both local and national causes, in one simple go.

"It's obviously lovely to think you might win too, so when People's Postcode Lottery turned up on my street, I was thrilled! My husband Neil and I bought a bungalow a few years ago that needs a lot of work. Now we'll be able to put some money into our retirement pot and take some savings out to get the house finished.

"I'm going to continue playing and since I've gone back to my office, have encouraged a lot of my team to start playing too. It's just great knowing I'm helping charities and winning myself at the same time!"

Our remaining winners weren't available to receive their cheques in person, so their prize money will be paid directly into their bank accounts.

Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson travelled to Cardiff to deliver our golden envelopes. He said, "It was lovely meeting Justine and Neil this weekend and seeing the surprised looks on their faces as the £30,000 figure was revealed! That's definitely one of the best parts of my job!

"I hope all four neighbours enjoy spending their cash prizes on something special and realise what a difference they've made by playing. It's down to our players that we can continue to support local charities and causes up and down the country, making everyone involved winners."

32% of the ticket price goes to charities and good causes. To date, players have raised over £500 Million for more than 7,500 deserving projects worldwide. Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by PDSA, the UK's leading veterinary charity which offers free services to the sick and injured pets of people in need. Players have supported PDSA with more than £9.7 Million funding to date.

Local charities also benefit from player's support. Merthyr Tydfil Institute for the Blind recently received £19,933 of funding for its Reach Up project. This initiative is designed to encourage people with learning disabilities and autism into sustainable employment by taking part in sessions focused on increasing social interaction, confidence and resilience.
