Street Prize
Cash For Clewer
Sally, a keen gardener, has been left blooming stunned after raking in and bagging today's £30,000 Street Prize - and now she's growing on the holiday of a lifetime. She was the only person playing in the winning postcode of BS28 4JG in Clewer.
Growing For Gold
Green-fingered Sally plans to tick off bucket list destinations with husband Ben following her massive windfall. But the mum-of-two is already worrying about the weeds. Sally said, "It doesn't feel real at the moment. It's all a bit of a shock - Australia and New Zealand is more than a possibility now."
The self-employed gardener added, "I don't know what will happen to my customers' gardens while I'm on the other side of the world. They'll be a bit weedy and a bit overgrown."
Chuffed Sally started playing after her daughter had a winning streak with People's Postcode Lottery and urged her to sign up. She said, "My daughter kept winning and said, 'Mum, you've got to do it.'
"The most she's won is £10 so she'll be a bit gutted when I tell her I've won £30,000. So, I've got her to thank for this."
Mower The Merrier
Sally has lived at her current address for more than 30 years and before that it was owned by her grandparents.
She revealed she missed our first telephone call with the happy news - because she was working outside. But TV presenter and People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Jeff Brazier made it right when he surprised Sally with a bumper cheque on her doorstep.
She said, "I didn't answer the lottery's call because I was hedge cutting, then I called back the next day and, hey presto, it's real and Jeff knocked on my front door.
"I can't wait to celebrate with our family and friends. We'll have lots of fun."
People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "It was a lovely day surprising Sally with our weekly Sunday £30,000 prize.
"I hope she has the best time taking in all the sights New Zealand and Australia has to offer."
He added, "Our Postcode Lottery players enter to win, but they also know the huge benefit it brings to charities locally and across the UK. Every time players buy a ticket, charities win."
