Prize Doubled In Halfway

Two neighbours in Halfway are celebrating after their postcode, S20 4TQ, was announced as the winner of Sunday's Street Prize.

One of the Auckland Rise residents picked up a prize for £30,000, while the second doubled their cash to an eye-watering £60,000 thanks to playing with two tickets!

Retired fireman Malcolm was the lucky £60,000 winner and got a tremendous shock as he pulled his cheque out of the golden envelope, "I'm in complete disbelief. I never expected anything like this in a million years – it's an incredible boost to my bank account!"

Malcolm, who plays in a country music band, is planning to spend some of his windfall on a trip to Nashville. He said, "I've always said I'd love to visit the home of country music and now I finally can. This really will be a dream come true for me!"

The grandfather of nine will also be spoiling his grandchildren, two sons and partner Verena. Malcolm commented, "The family are thrilled for me and it's certainly been a day to remember."

The other winner wasn't available to collect their cheque but their prize will be paid straight into their bank account.

Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson said, "I've had a lovely time meeting Malcolm and I hope both he and our other Halfway winner enjoy spending their prize! Make sure you're playing and it could be you I'm surprising with a golden envelope."

With 32% from every ticket going to charity, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised more than £310 Million for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally. This Sunday's Street Prize was promoted by charity PDSA.

Sheffield Mind is a nearby charity that players have helped to support. In 2017, the group received £19,400 to deliver training to men around mental health issues, with an aim to reduce male suicide.
