Christmas has come early for 170 people in Hungerford after it was announced they would share a cash prize of £4.1 Million, all thanks to their postcode. The windfall comes after the postcode sector RG17 7 was revealed by People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Matt Johnson as the winner of our December Postcode Millions.
This year, People's Postcode Lottery marked the season of giving with its largest ever Postcode Millions prize pot of £4.1 Million. Players with the winning postcode sector won a share of the prize ranging from £15,892 to £47,676 depending on the number of tickets played with.
People's Postcode Lottery Presenter Matt Johnson sent his congratulations saying, "What a way to celebrate the festive season for our winners in Hungerford. Although we couldn't visit them in person this time, it's fantastic knowing that this news will make the holidays extra-special for them this year!"
The full winning postcode was RG17 7AU. Winning tickets in this postcode received an amazing £476,571 each.
Thousands Of Deserving Projects
Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by Postcode Active Trust. This Trust supports charities and good causes to improve the health of communities by encouraging and inspiring participation in physical activity.
Local charities have also benefited from funding raised by players including Colostomy Association. It received £3,240 which was used for yoga classes for people with stoma, empowering them to lead more fulfilling lives.
