Brilliant Win For Bracknell
Three players of People's Postcode Lottery from Bracknell are each £25,000 richer this weekend. RG42 2BY was drawn as one of the winning postcodes in the Saturday Street Prizes today.
Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier found his way to Agar Crescent to deliver £75,000 in prizes.
One of the lucky winners, Lyndsey Richardson, has her eyes on an African safari. Lyndsey said, "When Jeff pulled out my cheque for £25,000, I was in total shock. All I could think was, 'Have I really won this?' It will take a while to sink in I think.
"I'm looking at a safari holiday now. There are four or five places I really want to visit and this is going to help me get them ticked off the list. I'm going to the Serengeti to see the exotic animals up close and in their natural environment. Personally, I'd love to see a wild elephant – seeing them in a zoo just isn't the same.
"If you aren't playing People's Postcode Lottery yet then sign up right away. Not in a million years did I think I could win this amount of money – but I have. You could be next."
Ronald Jacobs has been playing People's Postcode Lottery for a year and his £25,000 is going to help his family. Ronald said, "My granddaughter's car blew up at the weekend, so this has come at just the right time because I can help her out now! She's so good to me, always calling me to chat and coming around for dinner – now I can use my winnings to make her life a little easier.
"When I found out how much I'd won, I couldn't believe it - I was flabbergasted. It's a huge amount of money to win and I've won after playing for only a year. I have lived here for 63 years - now my postcode is finally paying dividends!"
Darlene Eglington also received a doorstep visit and found herself £25,000 richer.
Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "What an unforgettable trip to Bracknell. Imagine winning £25,000 and then using it to go on safari – I hope Lyndsey sends me some photos of her trip. Ronald and Darlene were both lovely as well, they deserve winning such a fantastic amount of money. I can't wait to see where the next lucky postcode will be."
As a charity lottery, so far players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised an amazing £129 Million for charities across Great Britain and internationally.
A charity near Bracknell that has received support from players is Prior Court, which was set up in 1998 by its Patron Dame Stephanie Shirley as a centre of excellence for children with autism. As an autism-specific provision, Prior's Court is able to focus on meeting the special needs of its young people. They received £3,528 to obtain new sporting equipment to expand the range of activities offered to students. The new sports equipment makes it possible to broaden the range of activities available and allow users to develop new skills.
There was also one lucky winner in Gorleston this weekend as another Saturday Street Prize landed in NR31 7JA.
