£1 Million Prize

Glasgow Millionaire Street

13 July 2024 - G32 8AJ - Glasgow - £1 Million
Millionaire Street £1 Million has landed in G32 8AJ Glasgow

TWO people in Glasgow are celebrating winning our Millionaire Street prize.

The winners scooped a whopping £408,990 each in our weekly £1 Million prize today.

The neighbours on Estate Road, in Carmyle, landed the biggest prizes after G32 8AJ was announced as the winning postcode.

And there was even more joy as hundreds of people in the wider postcode sector celebrated sharing the remaining prize money.

A total of 484 players in G32 8 landed cash prizes ranging from £326 to £1,630, depending on how many tickets they play with. The biggest winners chose to remain anonymous.

Local Funding

The players' windfalls mean local charities have also benefited from a cash boost in the area - including The Michael Tracey Project, which has been awarded £60,000 by Postcode Community Trust.

The Glasgow-based charity exists so that young adults with disabilities can live a fulfilling life, regardless of the challenges they may face.

Currently supporting over 40 service-users from across the region, The Michael Tracey Project acts as a vital hub to promote socialisation, community involvement and maintain relationships.

Mark Dempsey, Service Leader at the Michael Tracey Project said, "We feel so incredibly lucky to have received the news of funding this week.

"It will help us to considerably elevate our offering as a charity with the purchase of a new minibus - something we've never had.

"This is not only beneficial for the charity, but also for the families of the brilliant young adults we look after, as they longer need to rely solely on lifts and taxis to get them to our facilities - the more we can do to help, the better."

The charity also runs a day club with three values at its core: variety, taking part and flexibility.

The club offers a range of activities for young adults to get involved in such as arts and crafts, drama, music, cooking and community involvement.

The programme ensures service-users have a routine they can stick to and can thrive as individuals.

"We are also going to put the funding towards improving our sensory room, which is another key component to our offering.

"The space combines a range of stimuli to help individuals develop and engage their senses.

"The space is great, but the potential for what we can do now is just incredible. It is a weight lifted off our shoulders", Mark added.

Other charities in the area receiving funding thanks to Saturday's Millionaire Street prize win include:

  • Spinal Injuries Scotland - £60,000 Providing one-to-one peer support, information, and an advice service to patients in the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Unit in Glasgow and at spinal clinics in other areas in Scotland.
