Street Prize
Birnam Bonanza
It's a bonanza in Birnam as neighbours in one lucky street each picked up a fabulous five-figure sum thanks to their postcode. The fabulous five scooped their cheques when PH8 0AA was announced as today's Street Prize winner. Three of our players picked up cheques for £30,000 each, while the other two received £60,000 each thanks to playing with two tickets.
Absolutely Amazed
Evelyn was one of our lucky £60,000 winners. She said, "It's a wonderful day. I'm absolutely amazed and I can't contain myself! When I saw you coming to the door, I couldn't see the gold envelope because it looks bigger on the television. But now I have my own golden envelope and I'm keeping it!"
Evelyn plans to escape the Scottish weather and treat her friends and family with her winnings. She said, "I'd love to go on a nice holiday but there's nowhere special. Just some place sunny, anywhere with sun!
"My son is planning to get a new car so I can give him some money towards that. I'll treat my friends to a wee glass of champagne too!"
Feeling Ecstatic
Katherine was one of the neighbours who won a £30,000 prize. She said, "It's wonderful. I'm ecstatic! You play and hope, but you never expect it to happen. I was watching out for you coming so I was very nervous but it's very exciting."
When asked what she'd spend her prize money on, the only thing on Katherine's mind was a holiday. She said, "I have two daughters and a couple of grandsons, so we'll definitely go on a nice holiday. Maybe Croatia and the Dalmatian coast. Other than that, I have no idea!"
Excited And Surprised
Neighbour Kathryn-Anne and her husband James were just as delighted with their £30,000 cheque and thought it was marvellous. When asked to say a few words about how she felt about winning, she said, "Cold and excited and ... surprised, I suppose!"
As the remaining two winners couldn't be there to collect their cheques in person, their prize money will be paid directly into their bank accounts.
Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt was in Birnam to meet our winners. She said, "A huge congratulations to Evelyn, Katherine and Kathryn-Anne_. Given the recent weather, it's not surprising that they plan on using their money to find some sun, I certainly would! I'm sure the winners we were unable to meet will enjoy will treating themselves too."_
