Street Prize
Brilliant News For Bristol
A couple playing People's Postcode Lottery in Bristol couldn't believe their luck after winning £25,000 in Saturday's Street Prize – after only signing up two months ago.
Barry and Lynette Hopkins decided to start playing People's Postcode Lottery in April. Their postcode BS10 6LZ has come up twice in as many months. They won £10 in their first month playing and now find themselves £25,000 richer.
Lynette said, “My knees are still shaking. We've only played for two months and now we've won £25,000! It's lovely to win this kind of money and it doesn't happen to people like us.
“It is an amazing amount of money to win and I never even thought we'd win – it's a shock but a lovely one. It's so easy to play and sign up, so everyone should play!
“I love that players of People's Postcode Lottery support smaller charities through People's Postcode Trust and People's Community Trust. It makes such a difference to make funding available for more local good causes as well as national charities."
People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Danyl Johnson said, "Wow – winning the Saturday Street Prize only playing for two months is just amazing. Barry and Lynette were lovely and I wish them all the best in the future. I hope they find a really lovely way to spend their winnings.”
Over £124 Million has been raised to date by players of People's Postcode Lottery for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
One charity in Bristol supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery is Kingsway Dance Group. They provide opportunities for older people to come together to dance and socialise in Kingswood, with the aim of enhancing their lives and helping to prevent isolation. Through People's Postcode Trust, Kingsway Dance Group received £2,000 for a new sound system.
Players in Waterlooville were also celebrating as another Saturday Street Prize landed in PO7 8QB.
