Stoked In Stoke-on-Trent

Eight neighbours in Stoke-on-Trent are celebrating this Saturday after each winning a £30,000 cash prize and a £5,000 holiday. Their postcode, ST6 5GL, was announced as a winner today.

Our winners included:

• Rhian, a finance worker, who said the world was her oyster and is planning trips to The Ritz London and Hawaii.
• Mark, who owns a local commercial cleaning company and wants to go to Walt Disney World with his family.
• Julie, a retired care worker, who is going to jet off to Las Vegas and the Mediterranean thanks to her windfall.
• Alan, a dad-of-two and adventure lover, who said the money would help his family to see new places and the great outdoors.

Endless Possibilities

Rhian jumped with joy after finding out she'd scooped £35,000 in prizes. She said, "It's life-changing! It's exciting what we can do with this amount of money. The world's our oyster now, the possibilities are endless."

Her husband Nick added, "Things like this don't happen to us. The biggest win we've won before was probably the bingo and that was only 50 quid.

"I was made redundant last year, and I was in my job for twenty years and getting something like this is unexpected to say the least."

The couple are now debating what dream holiday they'll go on first. Rhian said, "We did talk about Hawaii, or a multi-centre stop in the USA, seeing different places that we've not seen before."

Rhian, who makes a living balancing the budgets for several local schools, is set to splash out by treating herself and her mum. She said, "I was talking about going to London with my mum and I'd treat her to a night at The Ritz Hotel."

HGV Driver Nick joked, "Rhian can also get a new handbag so that shuts her up. She said if she ever won, I could have a new jet wash and a washing machine."

The pair were delighted for their neighbours who'd also won. Nick said, "We're all friends and we all socialise with each other. It's brilliant that we've won together.

"The pub, down the road, will probably be busy tonight with all of us."

Having Fun Now

Another winner on the street was commercial cleaner Mark who pocketed £35,000 in prizes. His wife, Emma, was with him when Danyl revealed how much they'd won.

Emma said, "The things we can do with this money are amazing, we can have fun now!" Mark added, "And we won't need to worry about paying for it."

The couple are going to use some of their winnings to treat their daughter to a trip to Walt Disney World. Emma said, "Our daughter is 12 and she really wants to go on the big rides in Florida and now she can! And we won't need to do extra shifts to make it happen."

Mark also intends to help save money in his home. He said, "With the high electricity costs, I've always wanted to put some solar panels on the roof."

Living Life To The Full

Julie also won big and has set her sights on a few treats. She said, "We feel very lucky and very blessed. My husband and I want to go to Vegas and possibly a cruise around the Mediterranean or Thailand.

"We do believe in living life to the full but we're very sensible when it comes to money, and now we might get a new car because the one we've got is 14 years old."

An Unreal Experience

Alan and Rachel were also among our winners. Alan said, "Oh my days, it's absolutely amazing. I didn't expect to see the Postcode Lottery coming up my street - it's unreal."
