Street Prize
Big Surprise For Bishop's Stortford
There were celebrations aplenty on one street in Bishop's Stortford this weekend after two lucky players scooped £30,000 cash prizes.
The neighbours landed the phenomenal prize when their postcode, CM23 5DY, was announced as the winner of Saturday's Street Prize.
Picking up a prize was Jason, who said, "Wow, this is just fantastic! Winning this kind of money means so much to me and will definitely change my life quite a bit - I'll be able to put a deposit down for a house now! I would encourage everyone to sign up to play who is able to. With so many charities being supported and the chance to win lots of prizes you'd be silly not to."
Handing over the golden envelopes was Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson. He said, "Neighbours winning together is what People's Postcode Lottery is all about! Sign up to play with your postcode and I could be knocking on your door."
It's not just players who benefit from People's Postcode Lottery, 32% of the ticket price goes to charity. To date, players have raised a staggering £340 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. This Street Prize was part of a draw promoted by Postcode Community Trust.
Streets2Homes is a charity local to the winners that has received player funding. The group was awarded £10,000 last year to provide accredited training courses and one-to-one support to homeless people.
