Street Prize
Congratulations St. Helens
December marks the start of winter, the Christmas season, and our #50KADAY Street Prize festivities! From now until 8th January 2021 we're announcing gigantic £50,000 Street Prizes every single day. That's 35 wonder-filled days that our Street Prize Presenters will be bringing glad tidings to winners in lucky postcodes. Who knows, with a little Christmas luck, one of our presenters could be video calling you!
It's a wonderful start to the weekend in St. Helens today. 11 lucky residents each won £50,000 prizes for every ticket they play with after WA11 7HG was announced as a winner with People's Postcode Lottery. There's nothing like a life-changing cheque to supercharge your Saturday!
The winners found out how much they'd won over a video call with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt.
Life-Changing Amount
Married couple Julie and Kevin each play with a ticket and so scooped £100,000 between them. When Judie revealed their cheques, the couple jumped for joy. NHS worker Julie said, "Woah! Oh my God! He (Kevin) is jumping up and down! That is fantastic. That is absolutely mind blowing. Kiss me Kevin! I can get a new kitchen, yay! My sons will be getting a bit, and we will have a fantastic Christmas."
Kevin added, "I want a new shed, a big 'un! I can't even think how to spend this amount of money. You don't think you're ever going to win like this."
Julie continued, "My heart is coming out my chest! This is life-changing. It's been a tough year but now we can get whatever we want for Christmas. We've had three holidays cancelled so we can hopefully take our grandsons to Florida next year. That would be magical."
Julie and Kevin are certainly playing in the right postcode, with them both winning last year when players in WA11 7 shared £3 Million. Julie said, "Last year we won £1,500 each. It's fabulous to win again! I treated everyone and gave it all away though. I had my hair done, that was it."
Absolutely Fabulous
Andrew, who works for an engineering company, was another lucky winner, who not long ago moved away from the area. He said, "I've just recently moved to a new house so changed my postcode; however, it won't take effect until January, so this is very lucky to win my last draw here!"
When he saw how much he'd won he was overwhelmed. He said, "Oh my God. That is unbelievable. This will really help." He joked, "I'll just tell my daughter it's £1,500 and keep the rest!"
Like Julie and Kevin, Andrew also won a share of £3 Million last year. He said, "I'll probably keep playing in my old postcode now. If lightning can strike twice it can strike a third time! It's absolutely fabulous."
After the call Judie McCourt said, "Wow, how lucky are St. Helens players?! I'm sending the biggest congratulations to them all for winning yet again, this time a lot more! I hope they all have a lovely Christmas treating their family and friends."
Good Causes Across Great Britain
Today's prize is part of a draw promoted by Greenpeace Environmental Trust. Separate from the campaigning arm of Greenpeace, the Trust invests in scientific research, investigations, community outreach and education to champion greater understanding of our planet, fund vital projects, nationally and globally, and defend people and nature.
At People's Postcode Lottery, 32% of the ticket price goes directly to Charities, and our wonderful players have raised more than £600 Million for over 8,500 good causes across Great Britain and beyond.
