Postcode Millions
Millions Fun In London
25 lucky Londoners have shared a whopping £3 Million prize pot in our latest Postcode Millions. The players of People's Postcode Lottery revealed their prizes at a special celebration held at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, one of the causes which players support.
SW3 5 was drawn as the winning postcode sector in the September Postcode Millions draw. This was the first time the monthly event has taken place in the capital.
Eighty year old winner Jo Stafford brought his Pearly Queen friend Dee Russell along to add some extra sparkle to the event, where Jo picked up £190,608.
Jo said, "I’ve lived in Chelsea for 26 years and I never thought when I signed up to play People's Postcode Lottery that I would win this amount of money. I'm so glad that Dee could come along and help me celebrate at such a great event.
"I'd really like to go on a cruise somewhere sunny. I'll need to find out if I can bring along my pet parrot Maxie, who comes everywhere with me in London."
Career and life coach Victoria Fellowes said of her £190,608 win, "As so much goes to charity, I know that by playing, I am helping someone else. I only signed up last year, and felt that you have to be positive and have faith that these things really can happen."
Mum-to-be Jayne Maggs walked away with £127,070 and says winning is like a dream. She said, "I feel like I’m going to wake up any minute and this will all be a dream. My second baby is due in December and this will make a big difference.
"My partner Kay and I will be able to buy a new car and put down a deposit on a house. It just goes to show that no matter where you live, even in London, you can win with People's Postcode Lottery.
There was one winner in the full winning postcode SW3 5AG, who was not able to attend the event. They won't miss out though - their prize money will be paid direct into their bank account.
People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Fiona Phillips said, "I am delighted to be part of today's celebrations. I've spent a lot of time speaking with winners and supported charities and it's been a fantastic day."
Fellow Ambassador Jeff Brazier was also thrilled to attend. He said, "It was brilliant to be a part of London's first Postcode Millions event. We've had a fantastic day at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home with lots of wonderful winners, who are helping to raise money for charities up and down the country."
It's not just players who win with People's Postcode Lottery - £142 Million has been awarded to charities and good causes.
