Winners Revealed In Marshfield
Two lucky players from Marshfield were ecstatic to win big with People's Postcode Lottery this weekend, especially as they both have anniversaries to celebrate!
Jackie and Leslie from Robbins Close scooped one of this weekend's Saturday Street Prizes today after their postcode SN14 8NE was drawn as a winner.
Jackie, a carer, plays with two tickets so she netted a fantastic £50,000 win. "I thought I'd maybe won two or three thousand so when that cheque for £50,000 came out of the golden envelope I just couldn't believe it. My husband Danny and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary soon so we were going to either get a new kitchen to mark the occasion or go on a cruise – I think we'll be doing both now!
"Supporting so many charities was a major factor in why I signed up – playing with People's Postcode Lottery is such a lovely way to back a huge range of charities all at the same time."
Leslie, a retired lorry driver, couldn't believe his luck. "I'm just so shocked! It's my golden wedding anniversary soon, and my birthday this week, so we'll do something extra nice to celebrate!"
Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "It was so lovely to meet Jackie and Leslie today – a massive congratulations to both of them!"
Over £142 Million has been raised to date by players for over 2,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally. A project close to this week’s winners is the Swindon Wildcats Development by Swindon Wildcats in the Community, which received £1,825 this year.
Also this weekend another Saturday Street Prize landed in Ystrad Mynach, a BMW and £5,000 was won in Stevenage, one player in Cumnor won the fabulous Dream Holiday prize and London celebrated its first ever Postcode Millions win.
