Street Prize
Elation In Warwick-on-Eden
It's a fabulous day today for four Warwick-on-Eden neighbours as they've each collected a stunning £30,000! The windfall arrived after their postcode, CA4 8PA, was announced as the winner of Sunday's #30KADAY Street Prize.
Double Awesome
One of our winners, Caroline, recently gave birth to twins. Despite arriving early, the newborns' original due date still proved to be extra special as it came with its own surprise - a knock on the door from our People's Postcode Lottery team. She said, "Well, winning £30,000 is fairly awesome for a rainy day. And we've just had twins! This year, we've been very lucky, it's amazing. It's also quite weird how our prize arrived on our twins' original due date.
"I think we'll use the money first to go on holiday, maybe two, somewhere like the Canaries so not too far for the kids. I'm so happy we started playing People's Postcode Lottery a few years ago. It's a mix of a feel-good factor knowing you're helping charities by playing and that there's a chance of winning yourself - it's double awesome!"
Caroline's partner, Paul, added, "It doesn't seem real, but it is. It does mean a lot of arguing about who gets to spend the money though! We've only been in this home for six months and the cellar needs dug out and the outbuilding is needing done up. This will help us a lot to get that going."
Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt was in Warwick-on-Eden to meet our winners. She said, "Handing over the golden envelope to Caroline and Paul on what was their twins' original due date, was utterly heart-warming.
"I'm so pleased for all our winners today in Warwick-on-Eden and hope they all manage to spend their cash prizes on something special. Thanks to our players, we're able to not only hand over amazing prizes like this, but also support charities up and down the UK making everyone a real winner!"
