Carers Trust

Carers Trust works to transform the lives of unpaid carers. Its vision is that unpaid carers are heard and valued, with access to support, advice and resources to enable them to live fulfilling lives alongside caring.

There are an estimated seven million carers in the UK and three in five of us will become a carer for family members or close friends at some point in our lives.

It is a national charity that delivers work with its network of 130 local carer organisations, covering 88% of local authority areas in England, Wales and Scotland. Local carer centres provide a range of support for carers, including advice, group support, respite and short breaks, tailored support to young carers and to carers for specific conditions (such as dementia).

In 2024, it reached over one million carers and, while its reach is growing, so too are its needs.

Its mission is to ensure that:

• Every carer has access to a high-quality local carer organisation.
• No carer is pushed into poverty or is financially disadvantaged by their caring role.
• All carers, regardless of circumstances or age, can enjoy a fulfilling life alongside their caring relationship.
