Street Prize
Thrill In Kirkmuirhill
A lucky resident of Kirkmuirhill, in South Lanarkshire, is £25,000 richer today. Their postcode, ML11 9QW, was drawn in one of this weekend's two Saturday Street Prizes. Unfortunately, they were not available to collect their cheque but will have their winnings paid directly into their bank account.
Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson said, "What an amazing surprise for this lucky winner. I’m sure they’ll be absolutely delighted; as are the charities and good causes across Great Britain and internationally that are benefiting thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery."
As a charity lottery, players have raised over £124 Million for good causes across Great Britain and internationally. A local charity that has received funding is Coalburn Miners Welfare Charitable Society, which received a fantastic £1,800 last year.
Another charity supported by players is Dementia Adventure, which provides people with dementia and their family carers with the opportunity to go on short breaks and trips. These trips have been proven to improve the wellbeing of participants and reduce stress, anxiety and aggression. To date, Dementia Adventure has received £400,000 from players of People's Postcode Lottery.
Our other Street Prize this weekend landed in Hadfield, where four players scooped a total of £100,000.
