Street Prize
Good News For Gowerton
It's a super Sunday in Gowerton after six lucky neighbours netted £30,000 cash prizes all thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery.
The Bryneithin neighbours landed the prize when their postcode, SA4 3BZ, was announced as Sunday's Street Prize winner.
Medical Secretary Helen was over the moon when she received a knock on her door from the People's Postcode Lottery team. She said, "I'm still coming back down to earth! You just never expect it to be you, but this time it is."
Helen already has some plans on what she will spend her prize money on. "I'm going to buy my car outright, and I need a new bed and a hoover, but I'll definitely be treating my husband Rob and daughter Bethan, who's 22, to something a bit more extravagant! Bethan is a huge Harry Potter fan so I think a trip to Harry Potter world in Florida will be on the cards next year."
Vilma was surrounded by her family when she received the cheque for £30,000. She said, "I'm so thrilled but it's hard to put into words! I'll probably get a new bathroom and treat myself to a cruise. I'll definitely be sharing it with the whole family."
Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson handed the cheques to the lucky winners. He said, "It's great to be back home in Wales to present some nice big cheques! I’m absolutely delighted for Helen, Vilma and our other Gowerton winners, and I hope they enjoy spending their prize money."
With 32% of the ticket price going to charities, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised over £340 Million for good causes. This Street Prize was part of a draw promoted by Postcode Earth Trust.
CETMA is just one charity near to the winners that has received player funding. The group received £2,000 last year for its mental health project supporting young people.
