Street Prize
Triumph In Tumble
It's a super Sunday for two neighbours in the village of Tumble who are celebrating after their lucky postcode, SA14 6ES, was announced as a winner of our Sunday Street Prize. The win saw one Tyisha Road resident net an impressive £30,000 cheque, while the other picked up a whopping £120,000 windfall thanks to playing with four tickets.
Quadruple-ticket holder Rosemary was taken aback when she saw the six-figure sum on her cheque. She said, "I'm up in the clouds right now and have to keep pinching myself. This is life-changing for me, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
"I've lived in this house for 28 years and it's really in need of a bit of TLC. I have been saving up for home improvements, but I don't need to do that anymore! Winning this money means I'm now in the position where I can adapt the house to suit my needs as I get older, which is just fabulous - it means I won't ever have to move from this house which holds so many good memories for me. My husband, Peter, passed away 20 years ago, so I like to think that this is his way of looking after me."
Rosemary, a retired factory worker, lives with her daughter Denise and they play the four tickets together. Rosemary said, "We split the monthly cost so I'll be sharing this prize with Denise. She was the one who encouraged me to play as well, so she definitely deserves it! When I told her how much we'd won she joked that we'd be able to buy proper butter now!"
The mother-daughter duo intend to put their windfall to good use by purchasing a campervan and touring around Britain. Rosemary said, "I'm not keen on going abroad but I love Wales and I don't think we see enough of what's on our doorstep so it'll be lovely to travel all over this beautiful country of ours together. I've never been to Scotland before so who knows, we might even head north."
Good Causes Across Great Britain
With People's Postcode Lottery, a minimum of 32% of the ticket price goes directly to charities and good causes. Players have raised more than £438 Million to date for deserving organisations across Great Britain and around the world.
Today's prize was part of a draw promoted by CLIC Sargent, which has received over £6.7 Million thanks to player support. This funding enables the charity to provide vital emotional, practical, financial and clinical support to young cancer patients and their families.
The Welsh Air Ambulance Charitable Trust, which has an air base in Llanelli, is just one example of a charity close to our winners that players have helped to support. In 2018, the organisation received £15,300 to expand its service, allowing it to operate through the night and attend emergency missions 24 hours a day.
