Street Prize
Dividend For Bridgend
A £30,000 winner in Bridgend will now be able to afford a dream wedding thanks to his amazing cash prize.
Wayne scooped the money after his postcode, CF31 1PW, was drawn as the winner of Sunday's Street Prize.
The factory worker, who also volunteers for the Princess of Wales hospital radio station, says winning was absolutely mind-blowing. He said, "It was much more than I expected to win and I only signed up to play a few months ago so it's just brilliant.
"Winning £30,000 means Janet and I can go and get married and have a nice honeymoon. We've got enough money now to have the wedding that we really want. We'll invite close family and our dog Leo, and we'll have a bit of a party."
But Wayne says they haven't yet set a date. He added, "Janet is waiting for an operation on her knee, so we'll have to wait until after that before we have a wedding."
Street Prize Presenter Matt Johnson said, "Congratulations to Wayne and Janet! I like nothing more than meeting winners and making their day with a big cheque. If you're not playing, what are you waiting for? Do it now!"
To date, over £263 Million has been raised by players for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A local cause that has received support from players is Halo Leisure. The group was awarded £9,173 last year to run exercise classes for people over the age of 60 who live in remote areas.
Bridgend wasn't the only area to win big this weekend - there was another in Saturday's Street Prize.
