Street Prize
Burntwood Bonanza
Nine neighbours from Burntwood are celebrating this weekend after their postcode, WS7 2EY, won our Sunday Street Prize, landing them £30,000 each - totalling £270,000 for the Longfellow Road residents.
Near Miss
Winner Ronald said he'd had a near miss with landing the money, "I actually cancelled my subscription to the Postcode Lottery a couple of years ago but thankfully I signed back up or I'd have been gutted to miss this.
"It's a life-changing amount for me but I'll need to have a think about what to spend it on. A holiday will definitely be first on the list - somewhere nice and warm."
Massive Lifestyle Change
Street Prize winner Patricia was joined by her husband Graham when she was presented with the cheque. She said, "It means a massive lifestyle change for us. We'll be able to go on a few holidays to Spain and buy a new car."
Graham added, "We'll be getting the champagne out tonight to celebrate!"
A Bit Of Time Away
£30,000 winner Roger also had some plans to celebrate the news. He said, "I think I'll go up to the pub and buy all the lads a pint tonight!"
He added, "I had no idea what to expect but I thought it'd be more like £1,000 so I'm absolutely over the moon with £30,000. I haven't had a holiday in about five years, so I'll definitely take a bit of time away, probably in England or Scotland so I can take my dogs with me.
"The amazing thing is that when you play Postcode Lottery you're helping so many charities, so this is just a massive bonus for me."
Treat Ourselves
Player Tony was just as surprised. He said, "I was gobsmacked to see the cheque. My wife is the level-headed one, so she kept her expectations low and was even more shocked than me.
"We'll use the money to help the kids out first and foremost, but we'll also treat ourselves to a holiday and do up the house."
The other winners weren't available to receive their cheques on the day, but the money will be paid into their bank accounts.
Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier said, "It's incredible to have nine neighbours all winning together. It sounds like it's going to make a massive difference to all of them - I hope they treat themselves to something nice."
Good Causes Worldwide
A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and good causes. Players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised more than £416 Million to date for deserving projects across Great Britain and internationally.
This draw was promoted on behalf of Woodland Trust, which has received over £8 Million thanks to players. Pipe Hall Farm, just a couple of miles from the winners, is one of several woodlands across Britain benefiting from players' support to make visiting our woods more welcoming by improving access, upgrading and maintaining paths, and hosting events.
Louise Trevor, communications and engagement manager at Woodland Trust, said, "We're so grateful for the ongoing support of players who are helping us with essential work to make visiting our woods an enjoyable and memorable experience. Huge thanks to everyone playing and congratulations to the lucky winners in WS7 2EY."
