Street Prize
Win For Walthamstow
It was an exciting weekend for Walthamstow, as one of our Saturday Street Prizes landed in postcode E17 9RW. Racquel Lowe, a midwife from London, scooped an incredible £25,000.
Racquel's dream of moving to a new family home with her young son can now come true, thanks to her lucky win.
Racquel said, "I can't believe I've won. It’s crazy. When I pulled the cheque out of the envelope and realised how much I'd won I was in shock. I'm still in shock.
“I don't know if this will happen again to me in my lifetime, so I'm not going to squander the money. This will be a good deposit for a new home for me and my son.
"All my friends have told me that I work really hard and that I deserved to win, so the reaction from everyone has been really lovely."
People's Postcode Lottery's new ambassador Matt Johnson, who presented the £25,000 cheque to Racquel on her doorstep, added, "This was a fantastic first day as an ambassador and Racquel's reaction was brilliant! I am thrilled to be part of this experience, meeting players and delivering the golden envelopes.
"It's incredible to think that players of People's Postcode Lottery are raising millions of pounds for great causes at home and abroad."
Over £124 Million has been raised, to date, by players of People's Postcode lottery for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A player supported charity in Walthamstow is the Forest Recycling Project, which received £20,000 this year from Postcode Local Trust.
Also this weekend, we had more winners in Ketley Bank in Telford when another Saturday Street Prize landed in TF2 0DU.
