A Real Game-Changer

ROYAL Voluntary Service has unveiled it is developing a new digital platform to boost volunteering in Britain.
Supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery, the platform will widen access and remove barriers to volunteering. It will make it easier for people to give their time, and for charities to recruit and retain volunteers.
The digital platform is being built in-house by Royal Voluntary Service, thanks to £5 million in funding raised by Postcode Lottery players.
Completely free for the public and charities of all sizes to use, the platform aims to become the biggest-ever digital community for volunteering roles.
Catherine Johnstone CBE, Chief Executive of Royal Voluntary Service, said: "Welcoming millions more into the volunteering world could be transformational and improve life for all. I'm therefore delighted that, thanks to Postcode Lottery players, we're able to create a platform that will help supercharge volunteering in Britain."
Royal Voluntary Service has received funding to develop the platform from 13 Postcode Trusts: Postcode Care Trust, Postcode Children Trust, Postcode Support Trust, Postcode Active Trust, Postcode Animal Trust, Postcode Culture Trust, Postcode Earth Trust, Postcode Green Trust, Postcode Planet Trust, Postcode Education Trust, Postcode Global Trust, Postcode International Trust and Postcode Justice Trust.
