Delight In Dunoon

Two Dunoon residents each welcomed a £30,000 treat this Halloween, thanks to playing People's Postcode Lottery. The Birch Gate neighbours received the windfall after their postcode, PA23 8GA, was announced as a winner of today's #30KADAY Street Prize.

Coffee And Cake

One of our lucky winners was Lorna, a former estate agent, who found out how much she'd won during a video call with Street Prize Presenter Jeff Brazier. After seeing her £30,000 cheque revealed she exclaimed, "Wow, that's amazing! Thank you so much!"

When asked what she would do with her winnings, the mum-of-two had a few ideas. She said, "I think getting a new sofa is a treat for me and having the garden done, because I don't know when I'll get away to sunny Spain!" But she also knew what she was planning to do first, and added, "I think it'll be coffee and cake just now, maybe a bit of the sparkling stuff later!"

Lorna is looking forward to sharing her good fortune with her family and friends, saying, "I can help out my daughter, she's trying to sort her house out, and my son has moved back home so maybe a lot to do with houses!

"I've got a few other friends I want to give some money to, too, and help out. £30,000 will go a long way to doing that."

Discussing her prize reveal, Lorna added, "I was amazed, I never thought for a moment it would be as much as that. I'm looking forward to getting the big cheque in the post, that will be awesome!"

After the call, Jeff Brazier said, "What a way to celebrate Halloween! I'm so pleased for Lorna, although we couldn't be knocking on her door this time, it was lovely to bring her a treat."
