Street Prize
Well Done Bentham
December's draws are a marvellous month of #50KADAY Street Prizes, which run right up until the 8th of January 2021. Today's £50,000 Street Prize has landed in lucky postcode LA2 7FE in Bentham. Three neighbours, including a local community nurse, are set to have an amazing Christmas!
All Shook Up
NHS community nurse Alison found out how much she'd won over a video call with Street Prize Presenter Judie McCourt.
When her cheque was revealed Alison screamed and punched the air. She exclaimed, "Oh my God! That has made my year. My heart is racing. I'm going to cry! It's a life-changing amount of money to us workers on the floor. I have a meeting at work in half an hour, how am I going to concentrate?!"
It's been a hard year for Alison and her colleagues, so they're the first people she's going to treat. She said, "It's been a tough year for everyone at work and the people we meet. It's been stressful.
"The first thing I'm going to do is ring my colleagues at work. We often don't get time for lunch, so on a Friday we try to make the effort to do a chippy tea! The next one is on me!"
Alison also plans to use her winnings to take a well-deserved and overdue dream holiday to Graceland with her husband, Mal. She said, "I've always wanted to go to Graceland since we were married. I always said if we are still together in 25 years' time, will you take me to Memphis and re-marry me? We've been married 40 years now and we still haven't gone, but we can start planning that now! Mal's in another room but he's heard me whooping so he will know it's something big!"
Alison continued, "It's just an overwhelming amount of money. It makes a massive difference. This job is stressful, and I do want to retire at some point soon. I want to enjoy my life and not have worked it all!"
After the call Judie McCourt said, "After all her hard work this year I'm over the moon for Alison and I hope she manages to take her trip to Graceland soon. A big congratulations to the other winners I didn't speak to as well!"
