Whoopee For Worcester

Eight lucky neighbours from Worcester are getting into the festive spirit early after winning a share of £240,000, thanks to their postcode. The Grenville Road winners collected £30,000 each after WR2 5RL was named as a winning postcode with People's Postcode Lottery today. The prizes are part of our special #30KADAY Christmas celebration in which one postcode is revealed as a winner every day in December's draws and every ticket in that postcode picks up a whopping £30,000.

Biggest Christmas Ever

Worcester Street Prize winner Miki-Jay said, "I've just been given the biggest prize in my life. I know I can do an awful lot of good with the money. I think I'm going to increase the amount of tickets I play with too as I feel like I can be a small part of a big thing that's helping a lot of people. It's especially good at Christmas as people deserve to be looked after.

"I also want to go on a big holiday and go back to Washington DC. My friend wants to visit her friend in Nebraska so now I can do this without hesitation. This win really has made my year. It's the biggest Christmas I've ever had!”

Supporting Local Charities

A neighbour of Miki-Jay's who also scooped £30,000 is Cydell. Cydell said, "This win is just marvellous - I'm stuck for words! I'm a charity giver anyway and have always been part of the community but I decided to start playing for that reason, to help others.

"You never think it's going to be you. I'm just so happy. I've got six grandchildren, so they'll all be having a nice treat. My husband too! I hope more of my neighbours start playing People's Postcode Lottery as it's a great way to support local charities."

Judie McCourt visited the Grenville Road winners to hand out cheques and meet the players. She said, "Seeing the look of surprise on winners' faces has to be one of the best parts of my job! It was an absolute pleasure to hand out the cheques to our Street Prize winners especially hearing from Miki-Jay about her trip to the US and Cydell's plans to treat her family. I hope all eight of our Worcester winners enjoy spending the cash and it helps bring even more joy to them at this exciting time of year!"
