£1 Million Prize
Felixstowe Millionaire Street
TWO neighbours are celebrating after scooping a share of a £1m windfall.
The mystery duo of Felixstowe, Suffolk, split the bumper amount after their postcode, IP11 9TE, was drawn as the winner of today's Millionaire Street prize.
Every ticket was worth £333,333, but one overjoyed neighbour doubled their prize to £666,666 with two tickets. The second player bagged £333,333.
Postcode Lottery ambassador Matt Johnson said: "We are delighted to give these two neighbours such wonderful news.
"To have just two winners in the postcode area means they will be celebrating that little bit more."
He added: "We wish them all the best for the future with their life-changing windfalls."
The Millionaire Street prize means charities in and around Felixstowe will also benefit from funding boosts.
And one organisation, Suffolk Mind, has been awarded £100,000 by Postcode Community Trust.
The charity supports people from the age of four upwards and provides programmes to care for those with mental health issues across the Suffolk region.
Over 33,800 individuals have used Suffolk Mind in the past year alone, and more than 26,500 calls and emails have been received to the charity's helpline.
Jon Neal, Chief Executive Officer at Suffolk Mind, said: "Demand for our services has been increasing ever since the charity was set up.
"In 2019, we were taking 700 calls per month, and this has now increased to over 3,000 each month.
"We are at a point where more and more people in our community are reaching out to receive support with their mental health, so it is vital we are there for them."
Suffolk Mind provides a mixture of care programmes, including education and training, community programmes, as well as workplace support.
Jon added: "£100,000 is such a significant boost to our funding efforts and will go a long way in helping to support our community to stay mentally well.
"Our helpline is in such high demand, so the funding will be critical in strengthening this already vital service."
