Street Prize
Cash To Spare In Weston-super-Mare
A postcode in Weston-super-Mare, BS23 3JB, has been drawn as the winner of Saturday's Street Prize - landing one lucky resident a cheque for £30,000!
Jennie got the surprise of her life when Street Prize Presenter Danyl Johnson knocked on her door with a golden envelope in hand.
Upon discovering exactly how much she had won, Jennie exclaimed, "Oh my god! This feels fantastic – once I've finished celebrating tonight I'm going to book a three-week holiday in Tenerife as a treat for my daughter who has been studying hard for her GCSEs!"
Jennie might have to spoil another family member with the win, as it's thanks to her mum that she signed up to play.
"My mum plays and she encouraged me to join because it's so simple – the £10 a month comes out by Direct Debit so I don't even need to think about buying tickets. It's also nice to know that you're helping so many good causes, the winning is just a bonus!"
Congratulating Jennie, Danyl said, "I've had a brilliant time in Weston-super-Mare presenting Jennie with her well-deserved win. I'm thrilled for her and hope she has a fabulous time spending it! You never know where I could be visiting next, so make sure you're signed up and playing with your postcode!"
With a minimum of 32% of the ticket price going to charity, players of People's Postcode Lottery have now raised £301 Million for over 4,000 good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
One nearby charity that players have helped to support is Action for Conservation. The group was awarded £20,000 last year to deliver conservation education workshops to local secondary school children.
